Emissions reporting

Be NGER-ready and demonstrate results from your sustainability initiatives

Managing greenhouse gas emissions isn’t just a box-ticking exercise—it’s becoming mandatory for many businesses in Australia under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Scheme. If your company’s combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions reach 50,000 tonnes of CO₂-e (or you use or produce over 200 TJ of energy) in any 12-month period, you must register as an NGER reporter. This means measuring and reporting your annual greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption to the Clean Energy Regulator by 31 October each year. Beyond compliance, these reports build transparency, support sustainability credentials, and inform efforts to reduce emissions and cut fuel costs.

Recognising this emerging need, Nuonic will soon introduce dedicated emissions reporting functionality that converts fuel use directly into CO₂-e. Our approach will use your fuel data to perform a direct fuel to emissions calculation using the appropriate emissions factors which we believe will provide greater accuracy for Scope 1 emissions that approaches relying on usage estimated alone.

This will also be available instantly with each fuel statement of file upload, relieving some of the burden from your emissions reporting tasks. Because the last things transport and logistics businesses need right now is yet another regulatory requirement that diverts time and energy from operational needs!
